Theory & Practice: Writing A Strong Essay
Struggles you may face while writing essays and how to avoid them
From time to time you will need to learn to practice writing essays. This is important since it is a part of your academic experience that you cannot live without. As a student, you will realize that there are some challenges that you cannot ignore in the learning environment. You have to tackle them head-on if you are to succeed in your academics, and even proceed to other higher levels of learning.
There is a big difference between what you are taught in theory and putting it into practice. It makes a lot of sense to understand this, because in the long run, this makes quite the difference for a lot of students. When it comes to writing essays, you should always strive to learn about the common challenges, and how to overcome them.
The following is a list of some of the most common issues that you might come across in this process, and what you can do to overcome them:
Time constraints
Most of the time students fail to make it in their work because they do not factor in the time constraint. Time is a resource that we cannot take lightly. You need to plan for your work from the very moment that you received instructions for it. If you cannot do this, there is no chance that you will manage to finish the task in the first place on time.
Make sure that you plan accordingly. You should always ensure that you spare enough time to research on the paper, and more importantly, to write it. After that, make sure you also have set aside enough time to go over your work for clarity before you can send it in to your teacher for marking. Follow these keenly and you will be able to handle so much.
Easy distractions
You will always come across some distractions when you need to get some work done. These have to do. Some of the distractions might sound so tempting, but you have to let them go. Turn off the TV, keep your phone on airplane mode if you have to.
You basically need to show some resolve and restraint when doing this, so that in the long run, you can deliver the best paper so far, without losing your focus. You might also ask your friend 'do my homework for me' - that would be a wise decision too.
Laxity in carrying out the task
You might have done all you can to overcome the challenges of distractions or even planned properly for the task, but unfortunately, you might be so lazy at writing the paper in the first place. This is a rather common experience for a lot of students, and you end up pushing it for later. Do not do this. Set a schedule for writing your paper, and stick to it by all means.
Lack of information
Do not attempt to work on any paper when you do not have all the information to handle it. Do your research as deep as you can, get all the materials you need, and make sure that by the time you start working on the paper, you really are ready for the task that lies ahead of you.
Once you have found a way to deal with these simple issues, there is very little that you will have to worry about. In fact, everything else should be a walk in the park for you. Follow them keenly, and you will never have to struggle with your papers in your life again.
